Decibals boil
In the back of the mind
In the base of the spine
Where the noises are made.
We vomit some latitudes and
Follow our scripts
And sometimes our limbs disobey.
With arms like a ghost
And legs like a ghost
A soldier may shudder with shock.
But a chord striking air is
A terrible waste of
Electrons and motion of thought.
Amputation to malformation
Is necessary, they say.
When you only eat junk,
You turn into junk
And it's time to throw your body away.
So build walls in your arteries
Or starve yourself
Or solder your joints
Or bronze your innards
'Cause the vulture of cancer
Waits for organs to fall like fruit.
Talk to a leper
Talk to a dead tree
Because synaptic advances
Don't always lift water-weight.
